Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO) www.ambso.org is a ‘Private Not for profit (PNFP) organization working in partnership with Uro Care Hospital, with Head offices at Nansana, along Hoima Road and satellite offices in Hoima and Kalisizo in Kyotera District (known as the Masaka site). AMBSO conducts a wide range of activities of public health interest including clinical research, community-based health surveillance research; programs for health care service delivery and capacity building among health care workers and community health workers.
AMBSO is seeking for qualified, committed and reliable Volunteers to support the Masaka Clinical Research Site. Applications are therefore invited from interested persons to fill the position below.
Reporting to: Head of Department – Data

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Developing standard operating procedures as may be required
2. Support with creating and modifying databases and entry screens for studies
3. Create and maintain data dictionaries for all databases
4. Participate in developing programs for data inconsistency and validation checks (both between files and
within files) to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies and produce reports
5. Mentor and train data technicians on data entry and data checking
6. Respond to data requests and perform required data analyses using appropriate statistical methods and
provide reports.
7. Support study teams with designing of data collection tools
8. Ensure safe custody of all research data in both hard copy and electronic forms. Ensure that unauthorized
access to the same does not take place.
9. Accessing online data reports and receiving queries concerning the accuracy and integrity of the data for the
remote databases.
10. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Essential qualifications/requirements:
o Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Computer software related discipline.
o Use of data management and statistical analysis software e.g. R, STATA is an added advantage.
o Experience of at least 1 year of Data Management in a reputable Research Institution is an added advantage.

• +3 years of experience in Elixir (or Erlang), particularly using OTP.

Overview

A Media Coordinator is responsible for execution and monitoring of media and advertising campaigns. May assist in research for the development of the media plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the development and implementation of HIL’s media & communication strategy.
• Ensure that key messages align with vital business strategies.
• Keep track of ad-hoc and contractual media exposures or and PR metric.
• Monitor advertising content on broadcast, print and online distribution channels.

Job purpose:
The role is responsible for the smooth and effective running of Send a Cow – Uganda’s systems and forms part of a virtual IS team, working closely with the Head of IT, IS and Database Administrator and IS Advisor.

Key accountabilities:
• Support the Ripple Effect IT team in the setup of 11 new offices and 76 staff
• Train all Uganda staff on best practise use of systems with an objective to improve Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive usage
• Be responsible for asset management and device compliance in Uganda
• Manage Uganda’s external IT support company to ensure issues are resolved promptly
• Support the implementation of new IT processes across Uganda’s offices
• Support the move to a Lean IT environment throughout Ripple Effect Uganda’s Offices
• Support the rollout of new applications, i.e. the HR system and new PO system
• Implement systems upgrades and IT infrastructure changes in line with SAC’s IT standards
